Yee-Haw Brewing Heads to Music City

Johnson City Based Brewery to Begin Distribution in Nashville

Nashville, Tenn. –Yee-Haw Brewing Company is making its way to Music City. Starting June 13, 2016, distribution of Yee-Haw beers will begin in the Nashville metropolitan area and surrounding counties.

Based in Johnson City, Tennessee, Yee-Haw Brewing is gaining popularity as one of Tennessee’s fastest growing beer brands. Since opening in July 2015, the brewery has expanded to include over 1,000 points of distribution throughout East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The Yee-Haw Taproom and Brewery, located in a 130 year-old train station in downtown Johnson City, has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors to its flagship location. The brewery was recently named Top Brewery in Tennessee by Yahoo! Travel.

Yee-Haw Brewing’s team is headed up by brewmaster Brandon Greenwood, formerly the Vice-President of Brewing Operations for Lagunitas Brewing Company. Brandon was formally trained in brewing and distilling sciences at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland and brings more than 20 years of professional brewing experience to the Yee-Haw team. Yee-Haw will debut their four flagship beers in Nashville  — PilsnerPale AleEighty Shilling Scottish ale and Dunkel dark lager with limited availability of a recently released high gravity Double IPA and summer seasonal Blackberry Berliner Weisse.

Brewmaster and COO Brandon Greenwood explained the company’s approach to brewing stating that “At Yee-Haw our beers are about balance. We focus on defined styles done the right way with top-notch ingredients. Our lineup of products includes craft favorites such as the Pale Ale as well as unique and under-appreciated styles like the Dunkel. They are all approachable and all delivered without the fuss.”

The expertise of Greenwood and Yee-Haw’s brewing team has helped the brewery establish a loyal following and garner industry recognition. Last month the Yee-Haw Dunkel was awarded a bronze medal at the World Beer Cup in the European-Style Dark/Muenchner Dunkel category.

For Nashville distribution, Yee-Haw will be teaming up with Ajax Turner. “We couldn’t be happier to be partnering with Ajax Turner,” said Joe Baker, owner of Yee-Haw Brewing. “Their passion and professionalism combined with their state-of-the-art facilities show that we are in good hands, not to mention their excitement around bringing Yee-Haw to Nashville. When someone is as excited as you are about your product, you know it’s a good fit,” he added.

Beginning in June, Yee-Haw beer can be purchased on draft and in bottles in area bars and restaurants. In coming months beers will be sold in six-packs in local grocery and convenience stores. A series of launch events at Nashville area restaurants and bars are planned for the coming weeks.
