Brewing Up Vol Spirit: Yee-Haw Brewing Co. and the UT Basketball Connection

Yee-Haw Brewing Co. and the University of Tennessee’s men’s and women’s basketball programs are brewing up something special. As the NCAA SEC Tournament approaches, Yee-Haw Brewing Co. is gearing up to celebrate the Volunteer spirit in style, unifying alumni, fans, and players alike in a weekend filled with camaraderie, cheers, and great brews.

Nashville Taproom: Home of Vol Nation

For the men’s basketball alumni group and the wider UT community, Yee-Haw Brewing Co.’s Nashville location – a co-branded space known as, “6th and Peabody” that houses Yee-Haw, Ole Smoky Distillery, and White Duck Taco – is set to become the epicenter of pre-game excitement and post-game celebrations.

General Manager Preston Johnson shares, “We will be the UT pre-game pep rally for fans with appearances by the dance team/cheerleaders, mascot(s), pep band, etc.” From Friday, March 15th through the weekend, assuming the team secures a first-round bye.

Greenville Taproom: Lady Vols Takeover

Meanwhile, in Greenville, SC, the Lady Vols and their alumni will continue to rally at Yee-Haw Brewing Co.’s Greenville taproom for the second year in a row. Building on last year’s successful collaboration, the Greenville location is ready to host the Lady Vols and their supporters starting Thursday, March 7th. The taproom will be opening early at 10am and host a tailgate with activities and raffle giveaways before sending fans off down the street to watch the Lady Vols play! They will have watch parties on the jumbotrons, creating an electrifying atmosphere for fans that are not attending the game, that mirrors the energy of the tournament itself!

A Shared Passion for Vol Spirit

The connection between Yee-Haw Brewing Co. and the University of Tennessee goes beyond hosting events; it’s a testament to the roots of Yee-Haw and their ties to East Tennessee and the Volunteer community. General Manager of the Greenville taproom, Clay Howard emphasizes, “We love that we have the opportunity to host the school and team that is near and dear to so many Yee-Haw personnel.” This sentiment is echoed by Jordan Brantley-Prewitt, Director of Special Events at Tennessee’s Office of Alumni Relations, who highlights the seamless fit between Yee-Haw Brewing and the Volunteer spirit.

Uniting Communities, One Pint at a Time

Whether in Nashville or Greenville, Vol fans can count on Yee-Haw Brewing Co. to be their home away from home during the tournament season.

In the words of Jordan Brantley-Prewitt, “Partnering with Yee-Haw Brewing in Greenville couldn’t be a better fit for us! Turning Greenville ‘orange’ as Lady Vol fans take over could not happen in a better and more hospitable place.”

The connection between Yee-Haw Brewing Co. and the UT basketball family continues to grow and hopes to bring many more years of exciting basketball-taproom relations. Go Vols!
